Post of the Day Award for October 16th, 2010

This just takes the award for funniest most accurate post of the day. Original post of course will be deleted eventually. Even though it is an accurate description of MJ Rosenberg, who carries a very heavy chip over his days at AIPAC. Some of his blog entries have some merit, but most of his writing is based heavily on opinion and much hearsay.

Anti Semitic post of the day part B - Oct 14th, 2010 PM - Edition

October 15th, 2010 - Update - Soma99's post has been deleted, but Banh still stands.

Just as I thought that today was kind of over, I came across this little gem of an exchange. Again taking place .... you guessed it, where else if not at the Huffington Post in an article about Helen Thomas crying or some non sense of that sorts. The players are:

Soma99, a member since Sept 2010, no doubt a banned member that returned under an assumed alias. Soma99 has many many antisemitic posts, but this one takes the cake. Soma99 is giving his/her opinion on what to do with the Israelis that live in Israel:

Then there is Banh haven't seen this little character much, but banh is the one that prompted Soma99's response.

Click here for a direct link to the exchange, which I suspect will eventually disappear.

Anti Semitic Post of the Day Oct 14th, 2010

October 15th, 2010 - Update - The exchange has been scrubbed. Even though my post was not offensive it was deleted, unlike in Banh and Soma99's case where they scrubbed Soma99 post, but not Banh.

This is taking place as I type this entry, at the Huffington Post and the link to the article is right here. It goes without saying that the comment section again is plagued with heavily antisemitic posts, this one though takes the prize:

As anyone who is familiar with the history of Jewish people would understand, this is precisely why Israel exists today.

This is the direct link to the post.

Portrait of an anti semite

Audadvnc is a member since 2009, known for his short somewhat snappy comments, stands out for his blatant paranoia and irrational fear of Jews, here are a few self explanatory examples:

His response to Rick Sanchez being fired for his bigoted remarks:

Audadvnc comment about $900 Million in aid money to the Palestinians, financing terrorism.

Audadvnc comment regarding the new Israeli Loyalty Oath

Abuse of Power - Follow up

Last night, I received the following e-mail from the Huffington Post moderation team:

I have never complained anywhere, or to anyone that Sharmaine removes her posts.

My beef in this particular case is not with deletions, but with endless *demonizations* of the Israelis and Jews. How it's the norm for authors like Sharmaine Narwani and MJ Rosenberg, but when it's dished back (without any violations of TOS), the comments are mercilessly flagged and the moderators of the Huffington post delete them.

In other words, the mods play favorites.

Why have the Terms of Service if it wont be adhered to, or adhered and enforced ONLY when it's suitable?

Abuse of Power

The ever delightfully pleasant Ms. Sharmain Narwani, this time, dehumanizing the Settlers of West Bank, claiming that they are deliberately used as human shields. In fact, she posted that the parents of children in the WB are irresponsible and the children should be taken away, because the children are being put in harms way on purpose.

Needless to say, I responded in kind, and here is what I said:

The argument is logical valid, and most importantly not against the Terms of Service. Yet within minutes, an onslaught of personal attacks commenced. The post though, never violated the terms of service has been scrubbed.

Have a look at these screen shots, how every single post after mine has been in violation of the terms of service, but all got faved, while mine got flagged.

I raised the issue of this abuse in the Huffington Post's article on: HuffPost Comments: Addressing Concerns About Our Community Moderator Badge.

Here is what I said.

Needless to say, they still scrubbed the post with no explanation as to why.

It seems that it's okay to paint Israelis and Jews as less than human, but when it's done back, the gang mentality rules.
